Former Speaker, Rt Hon Abok Nuhu Ayuba together with one thousand four hundred and seventeen (1417) other former APC faithfuls which included former EXCOs in the district were to today officially, with the party’s (PDP) leadership approval, received and meshed into the People’s Democratic Party family in a ceremony which took place at the Fobur Market Square in Fobur, Jos East.
James Abok Azi, (former APC Fobur B Federal Ward Chairman speaking on behalf of the returnees said their action, returning to the PDP from the APC became a factor of necessity because they believe there is justice and the burning desire to fostering development in the PDP, and more so, because they don’t know how to sale the APC to the people of Jos East again due to the current zero percent achievement record in meaningful development from the APC in the past 7 years in Jos East.
Rt Hon Abok on his own part said it was grave injustice as well as internal dictatorship that forced him and his supporters out of the APC towards a better pasture (PDP). He emphasized that “I have always been of the PDP, I am not a new comer here. The major reason for our returning to our original home is because we want a party that will bring true and meaningful development to the people of Jos East and Plateau State.
A party that will position the people and the state above it’s personal ambitions. Let me set it here, I am enjoying a harmonious and cordial relationship with my core contestants and we’re a family and I promise to fully support whoever amongst us who emerge victorious.
Thanks to the party’s leadership for giving everyone of us the space and freedom to showcase our ability. And let me assure you here today that the 2023 elections is a PDP decider both in Jos East, Plateau and Nigeria.”
PDP Chairman, Hon Izang Adamu appreciated the returnees for taking such an important decision at the right time. He promised the returnees a fair playing ground and challenged them to get involved with all their strength and might.
He also encouraged the aspirants to carry their respective campaigns with love and in respect to one another because in the end we will still need one another.
PDP elder in Jos East and former Transport Minister, Hon MI Ibrahim Musa Azi therefore closed the event with a vote of thanks and with elderly blessings.
