With admirable concision, the APC has summarized its failures and the perils it inflicted on the people of Plateau thereby making it clear to the people that the Speaker, Rt Hon Abok Nuhu Ayuba had never been a partaker in their state of emptiness and total failure.
Especially, failures which include the flagging-Off of projects in their wee hours, after spending 7 years in office while other states have been commissioning multiple and massive projects.
Looking curiously, one can visibly detect the pain, fear, confusion, dejection, and state of disillusion clearly written in the content of the party’s response to the defection of Speaker Abok to the PDP.
The APC’s response represents an artistical painting of the cry of a wounded old Hyena who has been deserted by her cackle and left alone licking her fresh wounds before a Pride of lions. Sipping her full cup of imminent defeat on the Plateau and in Nigeria comes 2023.
Yesterday, I got calls and text messages throughout the evening asking if I had seen the ‘Response’ from the spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon Silvanus Namang.
Yes of course. I did. And I wished he understood the definition of self-respect and honor before writing that response.
Someone asked: “Sir, is it going to be fire for fire?” I just laughed. And I asked myself: where is the fire in what the APC wrote?
Why should I reply to elderly people with fire? And besides, why should I even bother replying emptiness at all?
When the people have already taken up with fiery comments against the unprofessional composition.
I learned: Hon Namang confirmed some things, that they are not very proud of themselves.
He confirmed the failure of the APC and the hunger and anger on the streets of Plateau.
He confirmed that the APC had only succeeded in failing to present ant meaningful development for over 7 years on the Plateau.
That it has cared less concerning people’s lives and property. That it is the party’s welfare, and not the people’s welfare that matters.
In his words, “(Sanda is) working with the Executive to ensuring that the mandate of the APC is fully executed in the State” what mandate have we seen from the APC led government in the State apart from budgeting 30 billion naira as cost of running the government while sinking only 200 million for the entire ministry of science and technology?
At this juncture, let me help point out some erroneous accusations the APC seeking to tarnish the personality of the Rt Hon Speaker, Abok Ayuba which in return bought them much hatred and massive criticism from the people:
For the APC to open up to the public that Abok have for long aligned with the PDP in an exoneration of Abok in their anti-Plateau activities and a prove that the Speaker has always been on the side of the people.
Besides, the APC needs to be educated that it was the people who voted for Rt Hon Abok directly as a member and indirectly (through their respective Representatives) as Speaker, and not the APC.
Abok would thank the APC for giving him a platform though, but he is not ready for loyalty that transpasses even at the expense of the people.
Again, in its disillusioned piece, the APC said it was the refusal of Speaker Abok to align to their agenda that necessitated their forceful illegal action in an attempt to oust him as Speaker.
We therefore humbly wish to let the public know that by this, the APC makes a direct reference to the reaction of the Speaker regards to bloody attacks in Bassa Local Government, Yelwa Zangam in Jos North, and the Speaker’s attending of the burial of a slain protesting student of Plateau State Polytechnics, an incident which had been earlier denounced by the government and the party.
Talking about mismanagement of funds as Chairman of Plateau State House of Assembly is an illusion that I won’t like to bother myself not to waste my time about, we have severally debunked these lies and it does not carry water before the court of public opinion.
Talking about suspensions and thugs in the State House of Assembly, the APC is actually in the right place as the Mastermind of such to respond.
About plenaries presiding by the Governor’s invented Speaker, the APC need to know that as a bonafide legislator, Speaker Abok understands the dignity and sanctity of the legislature as an organ of government and will never stain the institution by bringing it so low to presiding plenaries in a narrow corridor behind the SGS’s office under Executive superintendents through the SGS.
Concerning who is the Speaker of Plateau State, I think the people of Plateau should be in a better position to tell who their Speaker is, the APC itself in its response affirmed that Plateau people have regarded Speaker Abok through public comments as the Speaker.
Who then questions this fact in a government of the people, by the people, and for the people?
The APC wrote: “Sanda is fully in charge of Plateau State House of Assembly” — “as it continues to pass laws in the” this is a proof that the Governor has unconstitutionally hire for himself a baby pet who dances according to his tune and that he had already illegally approved erroneous bills for him which include the disguised cattle colony bill, the disguise 18 billion 2023 campaign money in the name of a fly-over bridge at British American junction, and many others.
In your response (APC) “(Sanda) as well as working with the Executive in ensuring that the mandate of the APC (not that of the people) is fully executed in the State.”
The question here is, what possibly could that mandate be? God forbid, we rejected one in Jos North/Bassa on February 26th.
The APC said it will retrieve the Jos East State Constituency seat.
I have never seen a naivety like this.
The APC is sinking, so I advise that it should first think of rescuing itself from it’s state of total extinction from the face of Nigerian politics.
It’s the people that decides who their representative would be, and some tin gods who have been temporarily favoured with power. The APC should instead, be thinking of facing the reality of sanity’s return to the Executive which has for long caused great nightmares to the government and the party.
We believe in the judicial system and we believe in justice.
Abok will, and must surely return the dignity and sanity of the legislative organ and will continue to preside.
Signed: Itse Samuel Kaze Media Assistant to Rt Hon Abok Nuhu Ayuba, Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly.
