Distinguished Senator Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka is a trained administrator, investigator, and gentle-man officer who retired from the Nigerian Police Force and returned home to be with his people.
He gained national visibility in 2019 when he offered himself as a pillar of hope and qualitative change to the good people of Plateau Central Senatorial District.
He contested and won the seat in the 2019 general elections and was sworn in as a member of the 9th Assembly in the red Chambers on the 11th of June 2019 to represent the people of Central Plateau.
The retired Police Commissioner was born on the 8th March, 1952 in Kabwir, a native town in the present-day Kanke Local Government Council, Plateau State.
He started his early education at the foremost Sum Primary School Kabwir and later finished at Azare in Bauchi state where he completed both his primary and secondary education in 1972.
He attended the University of Jos, Plateau State where he obtained an advanced diploma in public administration in 2000.
He followed this up with a Master’s (MSc) degree in Public Administration from Benue State University in 2002.
As a teenager, he considered a career in the Nigerian Police Force and his sojourn in this journey commenced after he was trained as an officer at the Police College, Ikeja in 1973.
In his early service years, he was entrusted with leadership at various levels.
Upon graduation from the Police Academy, the gentleman officer started his service with the special branch now known as the SSS as crime detective but later converted to general police duties.
He has served as a Divisional Police officer in various places and later worked with the former Bauchi state governor (late Alhaji Abubakar Tatari Ali) as ADC.
Hezekiah Dimka was later deployed to work as the Unit Command Mobile Police Force 2PMF Lagos State 1980-1983.
In the years 1988-1994, he served as the Squadron Commander Police Mobile Force 6PMF in Maiduguri, Borno State, and was later posted to serve as the Assistant Commissioner, Criminal investigation Department Delta State Command 1996-1999.
He served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Zone 4, Makurdi Benue State in 2001 and was deployed to work as the Deputy Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Department Zone 4 Makurdi in 2000.
He served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, Zone 4, Makurdi in 1999.
In due appreciation of his depth of professional knowledge and exceptional leadership, in 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of police and deployed to serve as the Commissioner of Police Airport and Railway Commands respectively, Lagos State.
He was later deployed to serve as the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command in 2003-2006 and between the years 2006-2007.
Sen Hezekiah Dimka was posted to serve as the Quarter Master General, Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Between the years 2007-2008, the gentleman officer was deployed to Delta state Command where he served as the Commissioner of Police until his retirement from active service from the Nigerian Police Force.
Aside from placing Nigerian Police on the international scale and maintaining the global standards, the gentleman officer has in his rich national policing career led several important criminal investigations which were carried out successfully.
He was also active in providing leadership and developing policies and strategies within the Police Force while drawing on his broad network within the organization to strengthen the policing style.
He attended several strategic professional leadership and operational courses that enhanced his capacity which set him on the right pedal for strategic leadership.

An officer widely defined in Nigeria Police circle as an epitome of standard and discipline, one with experience in Policing in a diverse environment indeed, this is the reason why the gentleman officer has an in-depth knowledge of people, cultures, and traditions in Nigeria as a whole.
As an established, dependable and well-respected asset within the global policing network, the gentleman officer bagged many awards and recognition within the Force and beyond.

Overall winner of the accomplished and most recognised Medical executive distinguished Security Administrator of 2004 at Nigeria National Merit Award of good governance.
C.P Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka retired in 2008 after 35 years of productive service in the Nigerian Police Force.
Returning to his home, he joined politics in 2015, and in 2019, the people of Plateau Central Senatorial District asked him to represent them at the red chambers as expressed in his victory.
Today, he is not only to be known as a gentleman officer but also as a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing the good and hardworking people of Plateau Central Senatorial District.
